Detailed History of GenTech Scientific

GenTech Scientific was formed by Clair Bragg, Jr. in 1995 when he left Finnigan MAT, a subsidiary of Thermo Instruments, in order to establish his own service organization to provide instrument service on a local level. Clair initially secured a few local service contracts that provided a strong foundation for future growth. Several months into the business, Clair’s wife Kim left her position as a Human Resources Manager with a local company in order to assist Clair with the development of GenTech Scientific.  Before long, a few quick buy/sell equipment transactions accompanied the service contracts already in place, and they snowballed into the growing company before us today.

GenTech Scientific is now one of the top analytical equipment resellers in the world.

Clair acquired a strong foundation of common sense growing up on a farm near Corning, New York. He joined the United States Marine Corp after high school graduation, and two years later, he requested and was granted a hardship discharge in order to run the family farm while his father recovered from an illness. Clair then left New York to earn an associates degree from DeVry College, where he pursued his degree in both New Jersey and Texas. After graduation, he worked and lived in Alaska, Ecuador, Texas, and New Jersey before returning to Western New York.

As GenTech Scientific has grown, we have added qualified, dedicated staff members in order to create the group assembled today. The employment group called GenTech Scientific is thriving on the spirit of people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and do just about anything to get the job done-completely and with integrity. Still small, we are mighty.

Gentech Scientific has expanded its sales, service and training capability to cover Gas Chromatography (GC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC),  ICP and AA from various companies like Agilent/HP, Waters, Thermo/Finnigan, Varian, Shimadzu, Perkin Elmer, PE, Hitachi, and Edwards.
