Key Benefits of AP/MALDI:
- Fast analyses – AP/MALDI operates at atmospheric pressure; no pump down time is needed. Sample plates can be loaded in seconds.
- High sensitivity – Low-femtomole to attomole sample amounts spotted on the sample plate can be detected.
- Searchable MS/MS spectra – AP/MALDI generates MS and MS/MS data quickly and easily. Allows database searching for protein identification. AP/MALDI MS/MS data is much easier to acquire than MALDI-TOFs post-source decay data.
- Complementary data – The MALDI capability, on a typically ESI instrument, allows analysis of singly charged ions and when combined with an ion trap allows MSn. Generation of MALDI data complements multiply-charged data from ESI.
- Rapidly interchangeable – The design of the AP/MALDI source is similar to that of the ESI source so changing sources is simple. Switching to AP/MALDI only takes minutes.
- Excellent reliability – With new pulsed dynamic focusing (PDF) technology which has been added to AP/MALDI systems, laser misalignments are eliminated and a robust stable operation is achieved. All AP/MALDI systems are delivered pre-configured/aligned, and go through rigorous quality testing.
- Great Value – The most inexpensive way to get MALDI capability in the lab. Adding AP/MALDI to an existing instrument is far less expensive than purchasing a new Q-TOF or TOF-TOF instrument. And AP/MALDI provides searchable MS and MS/MS spectra that answer many of the same questions.
